Train Warsaw - Poznań

When you fly to Warsaw, then you should take a taxi or public bus to the Central Railway Station (Dworzec Centralny, in Polish). The distance is approximately 10 km.

Taxi from the Airport to the Central Railway Station costs approximately 60 PLN (~15Euro). When entering the arrival hall of the Airport (after passport and custom control), probably you will be asked several times for taxis. Please do not take their offers - these are unofficial, uncertified drivers with cars (sometimes they wear "badges" to look more official), who could charge you several times more than the normal price should be. Just exit the arrival hall and immediately you will see a line of official taxis. Take one of them.

Public bus number 175. The bus stop is very close from the exit of the arrival hall and the bus goes directly to the Railway Station, however the Station is not the final stop of the bus. Either you should ask somebody when to get off or pay close attention to the electronic display of stops. It takes about 25 - 30 minutes, depending on the traffic. Before entering the bus, you need to purchase a ticket for yourself. Tickets (called "bilet normalny", in Polish) are availabe at newspaper stands at the arrival hall. Currently the price of one ticket is 4.40 PLN ~ 1.40 USD or ~ 1.10 Euro. 24 hours ticket costs 15 PLN and allows not limited number of travels within Warsaw, by buses, trams or metro. Tickets should be validated after entering the bus in special devices which are clearly visible.
Warning: the bus line from the Airport to the Railway Station is a favorite for pickpockets. Nothing dangerous, simply please be more alert and watch your belongings.

Train connection . Trains of SKM or KM go from Okecie Station to different final stations but each one goes throught Central Station. It takes 20 minutes to reach Central Station.

When you come to the Railway Station, you should buy a train ticket. The train ticket from Warsaw to Poznań (one way) costs approximately 15 - 30Euro second class or 22 - 45Euro first class, depending on the type of the train (fast, express, intercity, eurocity). The train ticket should be purchased at the station; when purchased in the train, there is an additional charge of 10 PLN or penalty.
