The Mathematical Institute of the University of Wrocław and the Banach Center are pleased to announce a conference, “Probabilistic Aspects of Harmonic Analysis 2018” in honor of Professor Ewa Damek during the week of May 7-11, 2018. The conference is in recognition of Professor Damek's influence in development of many important aspects of harmonic analysis and probability theory.
The Group of Harmonic Analysis from the University of Wrocław has been organizing conferences, every two years, since 1972. These conferences have always undertaken to cover the major streams in the fields of analysis and probability theory, which reflected broad interests of our group. In recent years (2012, 2014, 2016) the conferences “Probabilistic Aspects of Harmonic Analysis” took place in a lively and active atmosphere, and greatly benefited from the ideal environment at Będlewo.
In May 2018 we are organizing a conference in honor of Professor Ewa Damek, the Head of the Group of Harmonic Analysis at the University of Wrocław. This conference will focus attention on aspects of harmonic analysis and probability theory lying at the forefront of research in pure mathematics. Developments in just the last five years have transformed the profile of modern harmonic analysis and probability theory, drawing attention research leaders from Poland and abroad. Our aim is to bring together experts in harmonic analysis, probability theory and related areas who have played an important part in this development.
