The ball-covering property of noncommutative symmetric spaces

Abstract

We characterize those non-commutative symmetric spaces having the ball-covering property, which provides a number of new examples of non-separable (commutative and non-commutative) Banach spaces having the ball-covering property. As a consequence, we identify those von Neumann algebras having the ball-covering property.
