SONATA BIS (2019/34/E/ST1/00178 National Science Centre, 2020 - 2024):
Applications are invited for a 3 year PhD position at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
It is expected that during PhD studies the PhD student will work in the area related with the topic of the project (which is Operator Algebras and the interplay between Group Theory and Operator Algebras) and prepare a doctoral dissertation.
Qualification requirements:
Candidates are expected to have MSc in mathematical sciences. A solid knowledge of Functional Analysis is strongly preferred (a graduate level course of Functional Analysis, for instance), and some knowledge of Operator Theory or Operator Algebras or related areas is advantageous.
