Streszczenie
We introduce the concept of the topological radical of a Banach module. This closed submodule has two descriptions: as the intersection of the ranges of maximal contractive monomorphisms and as the union of the ranges of small morphisms. The topological radical is an analytic analogue of the radical of a module over a unital ring and has similar categorical properties.
