Special Session
The session in honour of prof. Jacek Banasiak
Jacek Banasiak is a Professor and DST/NRF SARChI Chair in Mathematical Models and Methods in Biosciences and Bioengineering at the University of Pretoria, Professor at Łódź University of Technology and Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde.
His scientific work concentrates on relations between microscope approach based on linear transport problem and microscope description represented by diffusion, fragmentation and coagulation processes as well as the phenomenon of chaos in infinitely dimensional linear dynamical systems. During 35 years of academic career he published almost two hundred publications, promoted ten doctors and has been a member of editorial board of three international journals. Personally, Jacek Banasiak is big enthusiast of mountaineering and other forms of travels. Although he is living in South Africa he is actively taking part in life of mathematical society both in Poland and in other European countries.
The session during BioMath19 celebrating 60th birthday of prof. Banasiak not only will be an occasion to meet among the group of close friends and coworkers, but also to present main results of the celebrant for those who did not have an opportunity to get acquainted with them before.
