Project: "Virgo-PL: Polish Participation in the Virgo Gravitational Wave Observatory"
The Ministry of Education and Science, under the program "Support for Polish Research Teams in International Research Infrastructure Projects," awarded the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences a grant of 1,282,163.75 PLN to cover the membership fee of the Polgraw team in the Virgo gravitational wave project.
The funding obtained by IM PAN continues the funding of the Polgraw team, led by Prof. A. Królak. The Polgraw team is a member of the Virgo gravitational wave detection project (https://www.virgo-gw.eu/).
The Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences is the leader of the Polish Virgo Project Consortium and has been the leader of three NCN grants funding the Consortium's participation in the Virgo project.
The last funding awarded for this purpose was an NCN grant from the Harmonia 9 program, awarded to IM PAN and completed in May 2023.
