The laureate of the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences Award for outstanding scientific achievements in the field of mathematics in 2025 is Dr. hab. Mateusz Kwaśnicki. The jury recognized his work combining probability theory with various branches of mathematical analysis.
His achievements include, among others: determining norms of classical discrete integral transforms, theorems characterizing bell-shaped functions and sequences, the characterization of random walks via their trace on the half-line, and results concerning eigenfunctions and harmonic functions for nonlocal operators. These works have received significant recognition within the mathematical community.
The Laureate's lecture will take place during the IM PAN Colloquium at the Institute's headquarters, located at 8 Śniadeckich Str. (TBA)
