From September 9 to 16, 2008, the Thirty-Seventh National Scientific and Training Conference on Applications of Mathematics was held in Zakopane-Kościelisko at the Siwarna Holiday House.

The Conference Organizing Committee was established by the Mathematics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences in agreement with the Center for Applications of Mathematics of the Mathematical Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Association of Actuaries.

The aim of the annual conferences is to present mathematical methods applicable in various fields of the national economy, especially in industry, insurance, finance, banking, railways, transportation, etc.

Conference participants have the opportunity to present the mathematical models they have developed at relevant thematic sessions.

The Conference Organizing Committee was established by the Mathematics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences in agreement with the Center for Applications of Mathematics of the Mathematical Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Association of Actuaries.
