GEPHARD (Geometry, Physics, And RelateD)

Interdisciplinary Center for Geometry, Physics, and Quantum Computing

Mission

The Interdisciplinary Center for Geometry, Physics, and Quantum Computing (ICGFIK, English acronym GEPHARD), led by Prof. Janusz Grabowski, is designed as an organizationally distinct part of the Mathematical Center for Science and Technology at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Its purpose is to stimulate, organize, and coordinate interdisciplinary scientific research, unified by the application of modern differential geometry methods to solve problems in contemporary physics and quantum computing.

This research is twofold: it involves foundational work to prepare theoretical frameworks, and it also focuses on applying mathematical methods to physical problems and solving specific practical challenges.

In addition to conducting direct scientific research, the mission of ICGFIK includes the education of highly qualified scientific personnel, the organization of interdisciplinary seminars and scientific conferences, and the acquisition of financial resources for these activities, both domestically and internationally.
